Location Shots

08/02/10

The picture to the left is Elly's house. We have decded that we are going to use her house for scene two - where Lily wakes up and starts to get ready - and scene three - where she leaves for school. Because Elly is playing Lily we thought it would be easier and more comfortable for her to be filmed in her own house rather than someone elses.

This is the woods nearest our school. This would be a good place to film because it would be easy to carry our equipment there and back. However this wood is not as scary or overwhelming as we wanted it to be, plus there wasn't a lot of room for Elly to run in so we went looking for alternatives.

Bareen and I went looking for another woods and we came across one that was not too far from school, so again carrying our equipment there would not be a problem. It was very large so had much more space for us to film in. We found a perfect location within these woods to film scene one: there was a sort of tunnel made by the trees that looked scary and intimidating.

The picture to the left is of the lockers in the drama room in our school. The advantage of using this location is that there is a lot of space so we can do pans a lot easier. It also has a door either side of the corridor so we had more choice for how we would film this scene. We had a choice between this location or the sixth form block which is the picture below this one.

This is the sixth form locker room. It wasn't very big, so we thought it would be too difficult to film here with the tpe of shots we were planning to use (e.g. panning). So we made the decision to use the drama building's lockers.

This is the entrance to the extension building of our school. We initially imagined filming here because it is an easy and open area to film, and the doors are automatic which can make the film look like a much more modern horror film, however once we were considering which locker area to use, we leaned more towards the extension building because it is less complex to go though and the area is much bigger.

Hello

Welcome to my blog. Our task was to create an opening sequence for a new film of our choice. This blog will record my groups ideas and progress throughout. Feel free to look around and comment on my posts.
